Gai Campbell – International Travel Advisor
Gai Campbell started in the travel industry in 1976 after completing an eye-opening year as a Rotary Exchange Student in Japan. While she was there, she was offered her first job – one which changed the course of her life, and led to the start of a career in travel – that has been her passion ever since.
Over the years Gai has completed many travel courses, gained numerous diplomas and attended the prestigious Lufthansa Training School in Germany.
She has travelled extensively all over the world. Her biggest highlights include travelling on the last Overland from Kathmandu to London in 1979, and buying her first car in the USA then travelling from east to west and back. Gai has lived in the UK & Europe for three years working in hotels, ski resorts, restaurants and a tour company.
In recent years she has travelled to the USA & Canada, Peru & Chile, Croatia & Slovenia, South Africa, and many countries in Asia. She I spent a wonderful month travelling throughout France with her husband and friends and now is a confirmed Francophile! Gai thinks there’s always somewhere new to discover though – next on her list is Sri Lanka and Kilimanjaro!
Gai loves all aspects of travel from adventure, skiing (a passion and an area of travel where she has built strong relationships with various resorts around the world), cultural, specialized tours, cruises, B&B accommodation and small to luxury hotels.
Gai really loves putting together itineraries for her clients that reflect their dreams and desires for their special trip – going the extra mile by paying attention to the smallest details is the difference between a good holiday and an amazing one.
Perhaps it is the great philosopher, Augustine that really sums up Gai’s attitude towards travel – “The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.”

Gai is fabulous. Her attention to detail is excellent, responded quickly to queries, understood our requirements and arranged our travel accordingly, all helping to make the reservation process efficient and it couldn’t have been better. I would highly recommend Gai: she was a pleasure to deal with and her knowledge of the travel world is outstanding. Many thanks to Gai, we look forward to our next holiday arranged by Gai.

“Gai, I just wanted to say thank you so so so much for planning such an amazing trip for us! We seriously had the most amazing honeymoon ever and have so many great memories we’ll never forget! The safaris were so unbelievable and we saw so many animals every time! The rest of the trip was just perfect too and we loved every second – best holiday ever! And the surprise helicopter ride and dinner at cape grace hotel blew my breath away, so good. Thanks so much again, we really appreciated all your help!”

“All right Gai, you’re a genius. We have just been sitting outside in the brasserie at the Grand Hotel in Bordeaux sipping “le white wine” and eating “le snack”. Prior to that we were at reception being upgraded to a Junior Suite (1200 euros a night according to the list on the wall), with free everything that moves in the hotel. The smiling concierge then got us a table at La Tupina – probably the most famous restaurant in the place, on a Saturday night. Anyway, thanks heaps and be assured that the Virtuoso brand is alive and well en Bordeaux. You’re a champion”.

“Thank you so much Gai for helping us organise and plan our holiday. We had a fabulous time. All hotels you booked for us were in great locations close to restaurants, bars, public transport and sights to see. We look forward to your help planning our future trips away”.

“My husband and I have just returned to Sydney after a wonderful holiday. Thank you for all your work and input, which is greatly appreciated. The list of holiday highlights is far too large to mention each individual item, but it’s hard to go past Lake Como (including the sailing trip and, separately, the Greenway Walk with beautiful gardens along the way), walnut gelato at Lenno, the opera at Verona, a side trip to Ravello while we stayed at Positano, the two guided tours in Florence (the guide Jo was simply outstanding), the charming hosts at Fontelunga, the exhilarating water taxi ride from Venice train station to our hotel, etc etc etc. Best breakfast of all? Probably at our very first hotel, that grand old hotel in Milan – lovely hotel, great brekkie, highly attentive staff. Thanks so much again. We are now confirmed Italy addicts, although we also know there is so much of the world to see. Grazie Mille”
