Four Seasons Sydney
Esther Fraser, July 2020
With international and most domestic travel off the cards at the moment, it’s a really good time for a Staycation in Sydney, and Four Seasons Sydney is the perfect luxury hotel to choose.
Four Seasons Sydney is in a fabulous spot, just metres away from Sydney Harbour, Circular Quay and The Rocks. The city streets are pretty quiet right now, and whilst it’s all a little surreal, it is actually a good time to re-discover Sydney – minus the crowds. There are some good walks nearby – around to the Opera House and the Botanic Gardens, plus Barangaroo is also a short walk away in the opposite direction through the historic Rocks area.
Right now, there are fabulous rates available for your stay at Four Seasons Sydney. Plus with Mary Rossi Travel’s status as a Four Seasons Preferred Partner, your stay also includes the Preferred Partner Amenities (including a room upgrade if available at check-in, a US$100 food and beverage credit to spend in the hotel, early check-in/late check-out if available & more).
Checking-into Four Seasons Sydney
The new and now “normal” Covid-19 procedures are evident are are all clearly being adhered to when checking in. There is sanitiser as you enter, spacing markers are on the floor, and all the reservation staff are wearing masks. Our temperatures were taken and the usual questions were asked regarding recent travels – both overseas and within Victoria in the last 14 days. All these procedures, while different to what we are used to, help guests feel confident that everything possible is being done to ensure their safety.
There are 6 lifts to take you up to your room. Even with social distancing measures we never experienced any delay, and we never had to share the lift with anyone else at any time.

Sunset view from my room
My Room
I was fortunate to be upgraded to a Premier Harbour Room and all I can say is Wow ! All the iconic landmarks were right there, up front and centre – Sydney Harbour, the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. And from the other side of the room the views looked out to the new Crown Casino Tower and towards Balmain.
Binoculars were provided in the room, just perfect to watch the day changing – day to evening sunset to night to morning sunrise. The room was incredibly spacious and comfortable – and with those ever comfortable beds that you melt into, always a feature of Four Seasons hotels, you are guaranteed a great night’s sleep.
The Four Seasons Preferred Partner US$100 food and beverage credit is a fabulous extra for you when you book with Mary Rossi Travel. You can spend it by ordering room service, having cocktails at Grain or perhaps dinner at Mode Kitchen and Bar, which was our choice. The restaurant is modern Australian and it was recently awarded a Chef’s Hat. Ordering from the menu was simple, just by scanning a code with your phone, which provided a contact-less menu experience.
This staycation was to celebrate my birthday and the chef made me a birthday desert which was so special.
