Spicers Sangoma Retreat
Kate McLean – Neutral Bay
Last week a short break took me to the Blue Mountains and Spicers Sangoma Retreat. Just 1 1/2 hours from Sydney near Kurrajong, it’s a great location for a quick getaway and an amazing place to celebrate a special occasion.
If serenity is what you’re after, you will find it here. Nestled in the bushland, there are only 8 suites. I stayed in the Luxury Bush Suite which was really private and had amazing views over the gum trees. It was a little wet and misty – wonderful mountain weather!
“Understated luxury” is how I would describe my suite and the resort overall.
Everything is included in your stay at Spicers Sangoma Retreat – all gourmet meals and beverages and the mini-bar is replenished daily. The meals featured locally sourced seasonal produce and were a real highlight of our stay.
The service was excellent. All the staff were friendly and trained to be able to handle any queries we had. Nothing was too much trouble.
So what is there to do at Spicers Sangoma Retreat? If you’re in need of down time, simply relax in your suite and swim in the gorgeous infinity pool. Maybe a massage? Enjoy the amazing meals. For the more active, there are some lovely local walking tracks to explore and mountain bikes you can use free of charge.
