The Amalfi Coast in summertime is everything you have imagined and more! A visit to the Relais and Chateaux hotel, Il San Pietro di Positano was certainly the icing on the cake of my stay in this area.
It’s a very popular holiday destination, with sheer cliffs and a rugged shoreline dotted with small beaches. Gorgeous pastel-colored fishing villages dot the landscape, and Positano is one of the most famous. Picture postcard perfect, it’s a maze of alleys and steps, with the vivid colours of bougainvillea & the aromas of lemon in the air.
The Hotel
Il San Pietro di Positano is located in one of the most magnificent positions along the coast, enjoying direct access to a private beach.
The beach is a natural cove surrounded by crystal clear waters, with a restaurant and bar by the sea. An elevator carved into the cliff will swiftly carry you from the lobby down to this special, heavenly spot.
There’s a private yacht, Morgan 44 or ‘Joey’, which is available for rent for a half or full day. It’s a perfect way to enjoy the beauty of the Amalfi Coast in privacy.
There’s also a regulation-size tennis court at Il San Pietro di Positano which lies between the rock face and the sea. It’s an amazing location which gives you the pleasure of playing by the sea. The panoramic swimming pool has a lovely terrace to relax on with an amazing view over the small town of Praiano and the sea.
The rooms are elegant and colourful with beautiful sea views from the balconies. There’s 2 upscale restaurants, Zass, the hotel’s Michelin starred restaurant and Carlino restaurant by the sea. You can even take a cooking class during your stay at Carlino.
Despite being in a quiet location if you’re wanting to explore the town, access is simple in the hotels’ private service. It takes just 3 minutes!
