The Peninsula Bangkok

After a wonderful few days in Hong Kong care of The Peninsula it was time for the second leg of our trip – and we flew off to the Peninsula Bangkok.
The Peninsula Bangkok is located on the Chao Phraya River (the River of Kings), and whilst it’s a bustling busy river, the location provides a wonderful respite from the congested, hectic city streets of Bangkok.
I always love to stay on the river when I am in Bangkok, and every room in The Peninsula Bangkok has view out over the river and to the city beyond.
All the restaurants are excellent and there is certainly plenty of choice. Just to name a few, there’s the Cantonese restaurant Mei Jiang, Thiptara for wonderfully authentic fresh Thai cuisine by the river in a teak salas, the River Cafe and Terrace which is the venue for breakfast and the Pool Bar – there are somehow few things more wonderful than relaxing with a light meal and cocktail by the pool while immersing yourself in the goings-on on the Chao Phraya river right beside you..
The pool area is really lovely and the spa so relaxing with wonderful Thai pampering options which are perfect to soothe the muscles after a days sightseeing.
After the hustle and bustle of Bangkok, you start to relax on The Peninsula boat as you cross the river to the hotel. So much happens along the river and it’s never far to go to visit lovely villages, markets & temples.
And above all, The Peninsula hotel staff are truly incredible and every need is anticipated and taken care of in the friendliest manner. I can’t wait to return!
